Tuesday Volunteers Gather for Project Galilee’s First Meeting

This week, Project Galilee welcomed its first group of Tuesday volunteers, bringing together a wonderful mix of parishioners from Seaford, Lewes, and Peacehaven, as well as local residents. This gathering marked a significant step forward as we prepare to launch the first public activities at Galilee—a place of encounter with Christ and one another.

From the outset, there was a palpable sense of energy and commitment as volunteers stepped forward to support the Parent and Toddler Group, Gardening Club, After-School Club, and Catering Team. It was inspiring to meet so many people eager to live and share the great Jesus story through service and hospitality.

The morning began with prayer, led by Deacon Stephen, centering our work in faith. Claire then provided an update on Project Galilee, outlining the vision for the months ahead. This was followed by interactive workshops, where volunteers explored their roles and brainstormed ways to make each activity welcoming, enriching, and life-giving for all who come.

To help everyone get to know each other, we kicked off with a fun icebreaker—each volunteer shared three short stories about themselves, one of which was completely made up. The challenge? Everyone had to guess which story was true and which was false! Laughter filled the room as we discovered some surprising (and very creative) tales. It was a fantastic way to break the ice and start building friendships.

A huge thank you to Claire, Jon, and Mary Anne for planning such a well-organised and engaging event. The atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and a deep sense of purpose.

With such a dedicated team in place, Project Galilee is set to become a vibrant hub where people of all ages can come together, grow in faith, and find community. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has answered the call to serve—we can’t wait to journey together!
