Stewardship

Stewardship is all about the management of our resources, and how we care for them.

How it all works

In collaboration with the church of St Pancras, Lewes, we have employed a Facilities Manager, to look after our buildings, oversee health and safety and ensure compliance. We are investing our reserves to two vital areas: ensuring our buildings are fit for purpose and ensuring we have a team to support Mission Hope.

Our churches, halls, grounds and houses all need significant investment. We have a 5 year maintenance and improvement plan that we are working hard at and you may have already seen some improvements in our churches and halls over the past year. All our works and improvements are based on supporting Mission Hope – ensuring a warm welcome to young adults and families.

Our Council of Advisors

We have a proactive pastoral council group called the Council of Advisors. This group takes a strategic and tactical lead on planning and running our church communities. With the Finance Committee they advise Deacon Stephen and the Parish Team from big decisions – such as Project Galilee, right down to the Big Church Clean at Christmas.

Our Finance Committee

The finance Committee was reconstituted as part of the parish merger in 2022. This group is made up of skilled parishioners who can advise and guide Deacon Stephen, the Parish Team and the Council of Advisors in financial matters.
